Character Information
Name: Mitsuru Kirijo
Canon: Persona 3 (Female route)
Age: 18
Canon Point: Post-game
History: Here!
Personality: Mitsuru plays the big sister role to SEES remarkably well. She's incredibly calm, patient, and mature beyond her years. Before Minako became the SEES leader (a role which Mitsuru asks her to take on), Mitsuru took on the role herself. Aside from her SEES duties, her affinity for leadership shows in the way she applies herself both to school and the Kirijo Group. She's at the top of her class and the Student Council president. As the only daughter of Takeharu Kirijo, she's set to inherit the Kirijo Group. To most of her classmates at Gekkoukan High, she's "on a whole different level", and she's very well-admired by the school population.

Despite her wealthy background and social standing, she's far from a snob. She doesn't go out of her way to flaunt her social status. She's courteous to her classmates, and especially generous when it comes to the other members of SEES. When special events roll around, Mitsuru's the one spending money so the girls have nice yukatas to wear, and rewards the team with expensive sushi after they've defeated the twelve guardians of Tartarus. She's also very involved in making sure the underclassmen stay on top of their studies, and rewards Minako with special gifts for high exam grades. In fact, it's impossible to initiate her social link if the protagonist doesn't have their Academics maxed. This is her way of making sure the team does a good job of balancing their high school lives and fighting.

Mitsuru is friendly, but she's also emotionally distant. Early in the game, she's more of a cool, detached mother hen than a fellow classmate. She speaks formally, addressing everyone except Akihiko (and Minako once her social link is maxed) by their last name. Even when she's casually hanging out with friends at the dorm, she's prone to sounding businesslike. This is less true when she opens up to Minako about her thoughts on gender and marriage, or when it comes to protecting her father. She's just as scared for the future as everyone else. She feels suffocated by the world she's been brought up in, and sometimes wants nothing more than to escape and live free of responsibilities. This is part of the reason why she likes to ride her motorcycle -- it allows her to escape and run away for a little while. Mitsuru makes a resolution not to run away anymore at the end of her social link and gives Minako the key to her motorcycle.

Mitsuru's major moment of character growth occurs soon after the death of her father. Because she used her persona to protect her father, she feels as if she's lost her reason to fight. She's also hit very hard by Ikutsuki's betrayal. Because of him, SEES was tricked into unifying the twelve guardians. by She falls into a deep depression, shutting herself away from the rest of the world and declaring her days of fighting as over. It's with Yukari's help that Mitsuru realizes that she has to keep fighting-- she can't give up. She can still try and achieve her father's goals. This resolution helps her decide to keep fighting with her teammates, a growth in emotional maturity that sparks the evolution of her Persona.

Her silly moments are subtle -- a tiny smile at a joke here, a clever retort there. One of Mitsuru's biggest quirks is her tendency to slip in little French phrases in conversation. She's so good at playing the role of a strong woman that it's surprising when her weaknesses are brought to the surface. She's actually pretty scared of horror movies, for example, and asks if she can hold Minako's hand while they watch it. Even though she's seemingly always dressed impeccably, she confesses that she's actually kind of hopeless when it comes to fashion and relies on her stylist.

Due to her incredibly sheltered life, she's clueless about things that are normal to any other student, such as how to eat fast food. She's so worried about using "proper etiquette" at a fast food joint that she waits until she can go with Minako, who teaches her. Even then, she's prone to overanalyzing things, like wondering how a business can make profits when their product is so cheap! Another side effect of her sheltered life is that she doesn't always catch social cues. She won't always understand jokes or realize when someone is flirting.

On multiple occasions, Mitsuru shows that she has a strong sense of justice. She reprimands a teacher for covering up the disappearance of a student in the interest of maintaining his own self-image, decreeing that he would be punished. The main reason she fights is not only to protect her father, but also as a sort of atonement for the terrible things the Kirijo Group did under her grandfather's rule. She's infamous for her "executions", and Akihiko knows firsthand that her wrath is a thing to be feared.

Camp Information
Parent: Aphrodite. My decision in making Mitsuru a child of Aphrodite is primarily because of one of her most characteristic powers-- the Marin Karin spell. Marin Karin is a charm spell that, if effective, can manipulate enemies into inflicting damage on themselves. Should the player decide to not directly control Mitsuru while she's in their party, she has a tendency to use this spell a lot. Mitsuru is also fluent in French, and peppers her speech with French phrases like "C'est magnifique" or "Tres bien" throughout the game.

Lastly, one of the first things many characters notice about her is her elegance. She may be unaware of her charms, but she certainly has them.

Skills: Power over love and attraction, beauty, and Charmspeak.

I would like for Mitsuru to have the power of charmspeak because it's very similar to the effects of Marin Karin, one of her canon powers. However, like Marin Karin, it would have a low success rate. If the mods would prefer to not allow charmspeak, then the ability to change her appearance is fine as a third power!

There had always been many uncertainties in Mitsuru's life. Would the shadows ever come back? What direction was her company heading towards? But if there was one thing she was absolutely certain about, it was her identity. She was the daughter of Takeharu and Eimi Kirijo and heiress to the Kirijo Group. Putting the whole "SEES member who helped save the world" thing aside, she was human. A special type of human, but human nonetheless.

These circumstances, however, have made even that part of her life an uncertainty. For the first few hours since her arrival, she was convinced this was all part of a very elaborate dream. The Empire State Building, as far as she recalled, did not have 600 floors, but a mere 102. Besides, there is no logical way she could be transported from Iwatodai to New York City in such a short amount of time. A small part of her still believes, or rather, still hopes this is a dream. Her parents, particularly her late father, have shaped so much of who she is. How she's lived her life. What was her origin, if a child of the Kirijo Group?

She doesn't have much time to contemplate her former life, however, because any doubts that may have lingered in her mind are crushed by the appearance of a real live centaur. Her eyes widen, and if it weren't for the fact that she's seen much stranger beings, she might've gasped. As the minutes pass, the realization that this isn't a dream hits her gradually. Even as her heart quickens and her anxiety grows, her face betrays nothing. She needed answers, and she needed them fast.

A quick look around the camp revealed many cabins, presumably the housing for all of the new arrivals. She follows the centaur's lead into cabin 11, quietly observing both her peers and her surroundings.

Clearly, they aren't the first to take up residence here. The cabin is packed, and Mitsuru realizes glumly that there's little hope of actually securing a bed. This is far from the luxury of her own dormitory, but she can at least be grateful that they were providing a roof over their heads in the first place. She sighed, walking over to the edge of the cabin to try and claim a spot for herself.

She had to look on the bright side. They were provided with all the necessities, and camping was fun in it's own way. She didn't have much experience with such matters, but this would be a learning experience. With time, perhaps she'd finally get some answers.

Where did she truly come from? What did these gods have in store for them? And most importantly at the moment, where was the ladies' room?
